The frame

Every edition is made to order as a Photo Print Under Acrylic Glass. WhiteWall, a widely recognized photographic laboratory, prints and frames each piece to this studio’s standard. The recipe does not change from one photograph to the next—only the image, its proportions, and the paper.

Construction

Acrylic, paper, panel, wood

A two-millimetre sheet of glossy acrylic sits over the print. Behind the paper, a three-millimetre Alu-Dibond panel keeps the work flat. A Hamburg gallery frame in solid wood—twenty millimetres, black matt—closes the edge. Rails and a wall mount are fitted at the laboratory.

Paper

Chosen with the photograph

The paper follows the photograph, not the size. Black-and-white files are printed on Ilford B/W glossy. Color files are printed on Fuji Crystal DP II.

Printed as prepared

At the laboratory, SuperResolution and ultraHD are applied. Image optimization is left off, so the file is printed as the studio prepared it.

Sizes

Five classes, by longest edge

Print proportions follow each photograph. The short edge is taken from the image so the work is not cropped. Portrait, landscape, and square share a class. Choose a size on the edition page.
